MADE KINDLY. FOR KIND FOLK.

WHO WE ARE

Cool climate, community inspired vineyard and winery in the Macedon Ranges run by Henry and Harriet Churchill (and friends).

Our dry grown estate wine is produced from the best hand picked bunches, from 50 year old vines, on rich and deep basalt soil, at 520m above sea level.

We do as little as possible in the winery to ensure this beautiful raw material is celebrated in the glass, and produce elegant and fresh riesling, pinot noir and cool climate syrah.

We produce modern and creative wines, with medium body and little time on skins or in oak, to express the fruit.

Some fruit is sought from a single block vineyard in Heathcote, with its legendary moisture retaining, stony red soil derived from volcanic Cambrian rocks.

Our sister winery; an established, organic, old vine, high altitude, dry grown vineyard in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in the south of France provides grenache, syrah and marsanne.

WHAT WE DO

WE MAKE WINE

Zig Zag Rd makes wine that express the coolest wine making climate of Australia – the Macedon Ranges. With hot days and cool nights, aromatics and acidity dominate, which is combined with beautiful flavours and textures from vines planted nearly 50 years ago. In some of the wines there is a wonderful minerality due to the old, rich volcanic soil.

We’re bringing our farm and winery to your door, and inviting you to our farm and winery.

It’s for folk who don’t just want to consume, but want to get involved with the story behind their wine. To get their hands and heart into the soil, learn about wine making and grape going, and share in the adventure with owners and vignerons Henry and Harriet Churchill at Zig Zag Rd. wines, just over an hour north of Melbourne.
